Phonix documentary film was produced to raise awareness about the different types of trafficking in Bangladesh, such as domestic, cross-border, and transnational trafficking, as well as the contexts of employment, safe migration, internal, and so on, and the ‘Push and Pull’ factors that create vulnerability for each type; using authentic accounts. The documentary also highlighted Ashshash’s interventions and measures to successfully and sustainably empower survivors by providing a range of services and support, raising awareness at the community and mass levels, and conducting advocacy on the effects of trafficking and the measures that can be taken to combat it in all forms.
